Belmar is pleased to welcome its new Medical Director, Angela DeRosa, DO, MBA, CPE, a respected, internationally recognized authority on women’s hormonal health. As Medical Director, Dr. DeRosa will provide valuable clinical support to Belmar’s providers, including one-on-one discussions on complex patient cases and educational webinars on a variety of topics.
Dr. DeRosa’s appointment also gives Belmar the opportunity to align with the Hormonal Health Institute (HHI), a hormonal health consultancy founded by Dr. DeRosa in 2018. HHI offers physicians and clinical professionals medical and practice development training on bio-identical hormonal replacement therapy (BHRT), with an emphasis on pellet therapy. Through HHI, Belmar will offer its providers free monthly webinars and discounts on best-in-class training.
“Over the course of her career, Dr. DeRosa’s mission has been to change the face of women’s health and wellness by emphasizing the importance of balanced hormones as a foundation for optimal health. Belmar specializes in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and other hormone-based wellness products, so naturally we’re excited to have Dr. DeRosa join our team,” Belmar CEO Dave Hill said. “Belmar and our providers will benefit immensely from both Dr. DeRosa’s vast expertise and experience as well as the resources of the Hormonal Health Institute.”
Dr. DeRosa has more than 25 years of experience in the medical field, both on the pharmaceutical side and in clinical practice. She served for several years as Senior Medical Director at Proctor & Gamble Pharmaceuticals, with a focus on the women’s health lines of osteoporosis and female sexual health. A board-certified internist with a specialty background in women’s health, Dr. DeRosa is the Founder and President of DeRosa Medical and DRM Integrative Health, where she treated over twenty thousand patients using advanced BHRT and optimization.
Dr. DeRosa is also an accomplished author, lecturer, and published researcher. After the publication of her first book, How Your Doctor Is Slowly Killing You: A Woman’s Health Survival Guide, in 2016, Dr. DeRosa received an avalanche of requests from physicians across the country wanting to learn more. The response was so overwhelming that Dr. DeRosa decided to launch the Hormonal Health Institute to share her knowledge with physicians and other medical healthcare providers in order to help change the face of women’s healthcare.
Dr. DeRosa received a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University as well as a Master’s in Medical Management from Amherst College. She serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. In addition to being Immediate Past President of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association, she is also a member of the International Menopause Society, the European Endocrine and Menopause Society, and the International Society of the Study of Women’s Sexual Health.
“As someone who’s long been impressed with Belmar’s dedication to patients’ health and its commitment to quality without compromise, I’m very excited to serve as its Medical Director,” Dr. DeRosa said. “While I’ve had a very diverse career path, one constant has been my commitment to the understanding of hormones and the role they play not only in the quality of life, but at preventing chronic illness. As Belmar Medical Director, I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with Belmar’s providers.”
